Introduction

The six months General Purpose Rating (GP Rating) approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (Government of India). On successful completion of this course, the candidates will be eligible to join in Indian/Foreign Shipping companies as a Deck/Engine crew. With further sea service, they would be promoted as Motorman/Oilman, Fitter, Deck serang, Able-Bodied Seamen, Bosun. They can also be promoted to officer Level with certain service and qualification requirements on passing the examinations conducted by DGS. This course is strictly residential.

The course includes mandatory basic STCW safety courses as prescribed by DG Shipping, Government of India.<o:p></o:p>NO HIDDEN CHARGES- THE COURSE FEE FOR PRE-SEA GP RATING IS RS 2,12,500 (TWO LAKH TWELVE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED) ONLY, WHICH INCLUDES STCW MODULAR COURSES (PST, PSSR, EFA, FPFF AND STSDSD), INDOS NUMBER AND CDC APPLICATION.<o:p></o:p>Mandatory Eligibility Criteria-<o:p></o:p>Nationality: Indian<o:p></o:p>Age: 17.5 to 25 years on the date of course commencement (Relaxed to 27 years for candidates with degree or diploma).<o:p></o:p>English: Minimum 40% in English in Class 10th from a government recognized board.<o:p></o:p>Education: Minimum 40% aggregate marks in Class 10th from a government recognized board (English, Mathematics and Science must be as subjects) or ITI (2 Years program from a government approved institute with minimum 50% aggregate in the final year)<o:p></o:p>Medical Fitness & Eye Sight: Medically fit as per DG Shipping norms and 6/6 Eye Sight (with no color blindness)<o:p></o:p>Passport: Valid Indian Passport at least for 3- Years from the Date of Admission in the Course. <o:p></o:p>Maritime Academy of India will obtain the INDOS Number and Indian CDC for the Student, whose admission has been Confirmed and joins the Course.<o:p></o:p>Applicants seeking admission must fulfil the eligibility criteria mentioned above. Upon meeting the eligibility requirements, all applicants will be required to appear for an entrance written and oral test. Selection of candidates shall be made strictly on the basis of merit. The decision of MAI in all matters shall be final.<o:p></o:p> Any false declaration or misrepresentation of facts will result in immediate disqualification of the applicant without any prior intimation. The written and oral entrance examination will be held at Kolkata. The date and time of the examination will be communicated in due course.</h4></div></div>
